Available for most SUVs; request ahead of arrival.
Up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards, depending on gear size.
Vehicle, tires, rack availability, and any extra cost.
Reserve the rack along with the ride
Most of our SUVs can be equipped with a Yakima PowderHound 6 ski and snowboard rack. The rack holds up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards, depending on equipment size. Share how many pairs of skis or snowboards you are bringing when you request it.
Racks are subject to vehicle compatibility and availability. Arrange yours before arrival and confirm any add-on cost. A vehicle photo showing roof bars does not confirm that a ski rack is included in the reservation. See the Yakima PowderHound 6 details.
Make room for boots, bags, and passengers
Start with your passenger count, then add suitcases, boots, helmets, and child seats. A roof ski rack carries skis and snowboards; it does not create space for suitcases. If you need every seat in a larger SUV, confirm that the remaining cargo space suits your group.
Our SUV options include vehicles such as the Volkswagen Atlas, Nissan Pathfinder, and Mazda CX-50. Check the exact vehicle’s seating and luggage capacity before choosing it. Tell us your group size and gear list if you need help comparing.
Confirm AWD and snow tires for your mountain route
Every vehicle in our fleet has all-wheel drive except the Nissan Sentra. The vast majority of our vehicles have snow tires. Confirm the tires on the vehicle you book, particularly when snow tires are a priority for your ski trip.
AWD and snow tires do not guarantee safe travel in every condition. Check COtrip, obey current restrictions, and leave time to adjust your route or schedule. Read our Colorado winter-driving guide before departure.
Plan the airport-to-mountains journey
For standard airport reservations, take the Park2Jet shuttle from Denver International Airport to your off-airport pickup location. Your private trip messages contain the vehicle-specific instructions. Read the airport pickup guide.
For a stay near Breckenridge or Vail, check lodging parking and arrival details before leaving. Allow a generous return buffer for mountain traffic, weather, the airport shuttle, and security. A normal map estimate is not a guarantee of winter travel time.

Questions before you reserve?
Is a ski rack included automatically?
No. Request a rack before arrival so we can confirm that it fits the vehicle, is available for your dates, and is included in your reservation at the agreed price.
How much gear does the rack hold?
The Yakima PowderHound 6 holds up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards, depending on gear size. Tell us your equipment mix so we can help confirm the arrangement.
Can I count on snow tires on the SUV I book?
The vast majority of the fleet has snow tires, but the exact vehicle needs to be confirmed. Ask about the reserved SUV’s tires before your mountain trip.
